Professionally, I am a wildlife ecologist. I have a background in vertebrate ecology, conservation biology, wildlife management, taxonomy, and GIS applications. My research focuses on the ecology, management, and conservation of mammalian carnivores and herbivores and involves four broad topics: 1) mechanisms that govern the distribution and population biology of mammal species; 2) addressing ecological questions at large spatial and temporal scales; 3) assessing strategies used for population recovery; and 4) the taxonomy and evolution of canids in North America.
Currently, I am the Wolf Conservation Center's senior research scientist. Previously, I conducted postdoctoral research at UGA, SUNY-ESF, and Michigan Tech between 2015-2021. I earned my PhD in 2014 at UGA's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. I also serve as an associate editor for the Wildlife Society Bulletin.
